Rapid change is a fickle beast. In one respect, I am grateful to deal with It (whole, all parts) together, but I do have concerns that I while I'm reconciling the emotional baggage from the last three years, I'll overlook some things. Maybe it's something white hot that will bring me to my knees in the middle of the grocery store or come hunting me down 20 years down the line and shake my bones to dust?
And then I remember that I'm just human, and no matter how hard I try to keep my brain clean and unfettered, I can't guarantee it to be 100%. Whatever comes, will come, and I will deal with it gracefully, right?
Absolutely.
Lately, I've been running like hell to this (doesn't quite hit the money until about the 2 min mark):

I continue to do crossfit because
The look on the face of a woman who suddenly realizes they can do military style push ups is priceless.
I am not striving to be as strong as a man, I am striving to be strong as a woman.
I never want to find myself a victim of my ability.
Lifting heavy feels better than feeling skinny.
I want an ass. A real one, that sticks out.
.... I've spent countless days working out at the butt crack of dawn with women who teach me and help me strive to be a better person. Who could possibly leave that behind?
Thank you ladies.

Weee!
A magical thing (wondrous, exceptional) happened a few weeks ago. The exact date escapes me (maybe it was a gradual, multi-day experience), but, at some point I recognized that I am not stressed about anything.
I search for things, trust me I do. I dig deep into the folds in my brain, and while I can come up with a long laundry list of things to drive me insane, none of them do. The stress junkie part of me holds up a nugget of horrible possibility, taunting me into believing I can actually control its potential existence and I am successfully and effortlessly walking away from it.
Holy shit people, do you know me? If you do, you'll know how earth shattering this is. Remember that scene in Amelie, in which her date is just a hair late and in a matter of seconds she's concocted a story miles long in which there was a car crash, an abduction and an impossible solution? As that scene unfolded in the theater, years ago, my then-partner Ross gently grabbed my hand and laughed BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I DID ALL THE TIME.
But, you see, I'm not doing that anymore.
HA! Ha!
Weeeee!
Below is what has been playing in my head for days now....

National Breastfeeding Week
Hooray for boobs! Hooray for boobs!
It blows my mind that our society continues to need proof that breast milk is better than formula, still, in the 21st century...after centuries and centuries of only having breast milk, and we're all still here.
For a huge list why this is mucho importante, please read 101 Reasons To Breastfeed Your Child.
Also, with added information on how non-eco friendly formula is:
Eco-Mama
And furthermore, Mark's take on feeding primal babies: MDA: Primal Babies
Now ya'll know how much I love science. I love science. I do not love the science that has brought us bastardizations of natural substances that worked pretty well on their own and were: F R E E, no money needed. Golly, could money be the motivating cause behind the push against breast milk? Some women, tragically, have trouble breastfeeding and it's socially unacceptable to head over to your already-nursing neighbor's house and ask her to take on an extra mouth like they did back in the day. Because, back in the day boobs did not automatically equal porn, or sex, or giggles. Or maybe they did, but it wasn't taken so seriously as it is today. Funny, huh? So for that I am thankful that another alternative exists, but it should always be the alternative and never the top choice.
Here's a big, hearty THANK YOU! to the Mommas who continue to face palm the creepy scientists and retail store owners who can't handle the baby to the boob. You ladies are da best.

Holy Crap
I haven't had cable television in a long, long, loooong time and I've never actually seen or participated in Shark Week on Discover (is that right?). After watching this clip, however, I'm going to hunt down some more. No pun intended.
I'll say it again: Holy Crap.
